Steve Fackrells's Layout

Hennock is a small town located in Devon. It was a Pipe Clay producing area and it is imagined that this small branch line station served this industry.

The buildings are all scratch built using artists mounting card as a base covered with a variety of finishes including brick paper. The Station building is a copy of that still in existence at Staverton. The Pagoda hut has been cut down from a 4mm kit.

Peco 12mm track and pointwork has been used set into N gauge magnesium ballast suitably weathered. Points are operated by the wire in tube method.

Locomotives are mainly white metal kits using etched nickel silver chassis with Romford wheels.Coaches are a mixture of 3mm Society kits and etched Brynkits. Wagons are from the 3mm Society range.

The Cassette type of Fiddle Yard has been used to minimise the handling of stock. The layout is 9ft long by 16’’ wide, has its own integral legs and a simple overhead lighting gantry displaying the layout name.
